TeamSpeak Setup Instructions:

(Last Updated: 03/06/05)

Once you've downloaded an installed the TeamSpeak Client, follow these instructions to set up your client to use the Leage TS Server:

1) Load TeamSpeak.

2) Click on "Connection" and "Connect".

3) Right-Click on "Servers" and select "Add Server". Name the new server whatever you want.

4) Make sure the new server entry you created is select (left-click on it if it isn't).

5) Enter the following for the different options:

  • Server Address: babcom.darkalliance.org
  • Nickname: [ Whatever you want others to see your name listed as ]
  • Make sure you are set to "Registered" and not "Anonymous".
  • Login Name: [ Whatever username you were assigned ]
  • User Password: [ Whatever password you were given ]
  • Default Channel: City of Heroes

6) Press "Connect" and you're done!

You'll want to adjust the setting for your personal preferences. Most notably, you'll need to experiment to find an appropriate volume level for the voice activation under "Settings", "Sound Input/Output Settings". Personally, I have mine keyed to Num Lock instead, so people don't have to listen to me eating or screaming. :)

Troubleshooting:

The most common problem is not having the microphone set as your audio input device! Go to your volume control icon, go to "Options", "Properties", and select "Adjust Volume for Recording". Under the "Show the following volume controls:" box, make sure "Microphone is checked", then press "OK". Make sure the "Select" option under under "Microphone Balance" is check-marked. You may need to adjust your microphone volume so others can hear you, and you may have to click on the "Advanced" button to turn on "Microphone Boost".

The TS server uses UDP port 8767, so you may need to make sure that UDP 8767 is allowed through your firewall, if you are using one.
